Sustainable Erie is a Colorado non-profit corporation dedicated to improving the livability of the Erie planning area.  It's formation and major objectives are a direct result of the community driven Erie Stakeholder Assessment Process (January-July 2001) completed in partnership with the Town of Erie. 

Our Mission

Assist Erie in its efforts to become the national model for a clean, sustainable, environmentally friendly town.

Our Vision

Sustainable Erie’s major activities will focus on projects that:

bulletPromote cooperation between Erie and surrounding communities. 
bulletRaise awareness of Erie’s impacts on the environment.
bulletIdentify transportation corridors and improvements that facilitate alternative modes.
bulletMeasure the progress towards sustainability.
bulletEncourage residents to adopt habits that promote sustainability
bulletEncourage land use that promotes sustainability

Contact Information

Sustainable Erie, as a non-profit, relies on the residents of the planning area to provide funding and volunteer labor.  This relationship favors projects that encourage the involvement of residents and thus promote a sense of community (a key factor in the sustainability of human settlements).  Sustainable Erie is always accepting new members, volunteers and contributions.
